Instead of wiring the connection to the push button switch, connected to the two leads of the horn. one wire going to the metal contact lead and the other at the switch lead. Now when you honk your horn it will open the garage.

Mine works like a champ. Are you sure you are soldering the correct leads to the switch? To verify just short the leads together and that should activate the garage door. If you can take a picture of both sides of the circuit board I can show you which leads to solder.

To make sure you don't have a cold solder joint put some flux on the soldered joint and then reheat (making sure not to let it come apart). You can use any type of flux. Easiest to find is the solder paste that is used for soldering copper plumbing pipes. Again if you can take a picture of both sides of the circuit board I can show you which leads to solder.
