To make sure you don't have a cold solder joint put some flux on the soldered joint and then reheat (making sure not to let it come apart). You can use any type of flux. Easiest to find is the solder paste that is used for soldering copper plumbing pipes. Again if you can take a picture of both sides of the circuit board I can show you which leads to solder.
